Johnny Meland - Mechanical
Johnny joined the team after graduating from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a Mechanical Engineering degree and playing club hockey. Now, Johnny assists with the design and production of our chillers and rink floors.

Karla Davidson - Software Engineer
Karla started in the construction industry before serving in the industrial automation industry for over 17 years. Her knowledge of VFDs and PLCs, as well as her experience with a large variety of start-ups and troubleshooting ensure that the implementation of our Beyond Cool system flows smoothly. What she may lack in ice skating skills, she makes up for in industrial automation skills!

Richard Doak - Mechanical President
Richard has been in the industrial refrigeration industry for over 40 years. His development with a compact yet serviceable packaged chiller along with the industries most comprehensive and reliable PLC control systems, focuses on energy efficiency, performance and temperature control. Just some of his chiller system works include Madison Square Garden, the Chicago Blackhawks practice facility, Pittsburgh Penguins practice facility, University of Notre Dame and Penn State University.

Jake Tracy - Mechanical
Jake joined Modern Mechanical after his four year stint at the University of Minnesota Duluth. There he received his degree in mechanical engineering. With a hockey background Jake now joins the team to assist in many aspects chiller and floor production.
